Christmas Candle

Happy Friday!!!  It's a cool, windy day with rain on the way here in Southern Iowa.

It is new release for the A Way With Words collection at Elizabeth Craft Designs.  The A Way With Words collection are all designed by Suzanne Cannon, owner of Quietfire Design.  Just like Suzanne's stamps, all her dies include her hand calligraphy.  They are just gorgeous!!!  There are 4 new skus -- the Flourished Candle (ECD / QF), Flourished Christmas Minis (ECD / QF), Merry Christmas SMALL (ECD / QF), and Rejoice (ECD / QF).

This card is made using the new Flourished Candle.  The set comes with the complete candle as one die plus the flame and wax drip by themselves allowing you to cut and layer.  I cut the complete candle from red cardstock.  I cut the flame and drip from white cardstock.  The flame is inked with Distress Ink Mustard Seed.  The drip is colored with Nuvo Mousse Mother of Pearl.

For the background I used white cardstock, added color with Distress Ink Evergreen Bough using the dip in ink on your craft sheet technique, embossed it with the Spring Leaves embossing folder (ECD), die cut the panel with Stitched Rectangles (ECD), lightly sponged more Evergreen Bough around the edges, and added gold on the edges and a line of dots with Smooch Ink Gold Lame.  The red panel is also die cut with the Stitched Rectangles and Smooch Ink added around the edges.  I got some extra gold along the edge on the lower right side so then I purposely did that along the upper left side.  I probably should have just made a new panel or added the extra spots all the way around.  I thought it looked ok until I was editing pictures.  Everything is attached to a folded white card and a gold cord bow added.

Except for the extra gold spots, I really like the card, it would make a beautiful Christmas card, and they wouldn't take too long to make either.

Over on Quietfire Creations there is a week long celebration of this release beginning today and going through next Friday complete with a give away.  Be sure to follow along there and comment every day on Quietfire Creations for your chance to win.

Hugs, Wanda
