Music Expresses

Hello!!  I created this card in part for this weeks Simon Says Monday Challenge which is Hip Hop.

I decided to approach this theme from the music side rather than using something that hopped.  Although now, as I'm typing up this post, it has occurred to me that I could have put bunny ears on the dog.  But no, I'll leave it as is.

For the background I started with Mixed Media paper and applied layers of Distress Ink, both Oxide and Regular using lot of water and drips while drying and layering more.  Once done with the ink, I used the Sizzix, Tim Holtz music folder to emboss the paper and then applied Treasure Gold - White Fire with my finger keeping it mostly to the high spots.  Real stitching around the edges.

Here is a close up.  Isn't that scrumptious!!!

The quote is a Quietfire Design rubber stamp (Music Expresses).  The paper I've stamped it on is Mixed Media Heavy Weight sprayed with Distress Spray Stain, some stencil (Tim Holtz) work with both water and ink and then splatters of water.  On the edges I've dabbed PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Paint - White Fire.  Under the quote panel is black burlap.  The Tim Holtz dog was stamped onto Mixed Media paper, water colored using Distress Inks and a water brush.  The music notes are punched from black paper (a really old punch).

Life is Full of Beauty

A quick ATC for the Simon Says Monday Challenge this week which is Make A Rainbow.

I started with a piece of Mixed Media Heavy Weight cut ATC size (2 1/2" x 3 1/2") and added Distress Oxide Inks (Cracked Pistachio, Peeled Paint) working from the craft sheet with the inks plus water and splattering the paper with water while drying the ink with the heat tool.  Once done and dry, I applied a Christine Adolf adhesive rub-on (Autumn Leaves set) to the paper and over that I put Ranger Ink foil (rainbow colored from the Celebrations set).  Next was doodling with a black pen; white paint (PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Snowflake with a detail point applicator) dots; Distress Paint (Tarnished Brass) on the edges; some dimples made in the foiled area with the Tim Hotz hammer - end with bumps; Tim Holtz Idea-ology Design Tape (Butterflies), rub-ons, and Clippings sticker.

My daughter and I decided to keep it small and simple for the challenge this week as time has been short and she's been sick this week.  She hopes to get an atc done also.  Your prayers for her healing would be great!!  Thank you!!!

Enjoy The Journey

Hello to you on this sunny Friday in April!!! We've had the sun shining for 2 days and it's supposed to be a beautiful weekend.

I made this card last summer and hadn't yet blogged it.  I don't remember the details of how I made it.  I know I created it sometime during the Summer of Creative Chemistry and I'm pretty sure I used all Tim Holtz products.

I hope you have a great day!!!

Hugs, Wanda
