Hello!!!  I'm sharing the details of this card over on the Quietfire Creations Blog today.  It uses one of the new Quietfire Design calligraphy stamps... isn't it beautiful!!!!  I've also used a Tim Holtz, Stamper's Anonymous Hipster image and die cut it with the Sizzix matching dies since this is a #hipforsummer Summer :-)

PaperArtsy New Release - Kay Carley

Happy Monday to you!!!  Lots of excitement over at PaperArtsy as they are having mid year releases.  First up is Kay Carley and I am thrilled to be a part of her team for this release.  I had so much fun!!!!  You can see a picture of her new stamp set and stencil on the PaperArtsy Blog.  Also if you missed Kay's post on PaperArtsy from yesterday do check out her gorgeous art!!

I began with a piece of Heavy Smoothy Card and created a masterboard using Fresco Finish Paints and stamping with Archivals.  I put drops of the yellow paint on my craft sheet, spacing them out a bit, sprayed each drop with some water, mixed them with my finger, sprayed my paper just a bit with water and dipped it into the paint, pressing and moving... lifted it up and dried it completely.  This was repeated with the pink paint spacing the drops even more and not using as many.  The paper can also be sprayed with water after dipping to create more movement with the color.  Because I dried the first layer completely and because the pink paint is opaque, I did not get orange but light and dark areas of pink with all the yellow.  The small sprig was stenciled with FF Snowflake.  The other small images were stamped with Archival Ink.

I mixed Fresco Finish paint with Grunge Paste and stenciled the leafy branch.  Once it was dry, I put the stencil back on and inked some of it with Archival Ink.

I stamped and embossed the flowers, added color first with Beach Hut (a translucent FF color) and water, dried it, added more color to parts with a Posca paint pen, dried it, and finally added some white with a gel pen.

Before working on the background, I painted on a thin coat of FF Snowflake to mute everything and put it even more in the background.  I stamped the delicate "flower" from the top with 3 different colors of Archival Ink giving the look of hanging leaves/branches... it makes me think of a weeping willow tree.  I also added some dots with a gel pen.  The bees were stamped onto a scrap of Smoothy Card, cut out, colored with Distress Markers, and the wings given shimmer with a Wink of Stella pen, Gl. Clear.

Cherish

Hello!!!  This week's Simon Says Monday Challenge is Going Around In Circles.  I've used an Elizabeth Craft Design's cutting die, Circles, and you can see them peeking out at the top right and bottom left corners.  I used 3 of the drop out pieces, glued them at the top left and then put orange sticky backed gems over the white circles.  On the orange layer I've used Texture Paste through a Tim Holtz mini stencil.  That takes card of my circles.  The main image here is an older Penny Black stamp.  I inked it with Versamark, sprinked on PaperArtsy Infusions, sprayed it with water and stamped it on the paper.  All the speckles around the image were done with Picked Rapsberry Distress Ink flicked on using a waterbrush.  The next layer also uses PaperArtsy Infusions... they were sprinkled on the paper and then brushed over with PaperArtsy Metallic Glaze.  You can get a glimpse of the shimmer this creates in the next couple pictures. "Cherish" is a Quietfire Design stamp from the set, Jewelry Words.  It is stamped with VersaFine ink Onyx Black, torn out, the edges flicked across the Picked Raspberry Distress Ink pad, and then the paper sprayed with water so that ink would bleed a bit.
