Leave a Little Sparkle

I'm sharing another ATC today.  As I mentioned with these atcs, I was mostly using up bit and pieces, scraps of things left from who-knows-what.  I cut this atc from a piece left over from THIS project on the PaperArtsy Blog.  I added paint around the edges, some small talk stickers, and Perfect Pearls mist.

Holly in a Heart

I'm very excited to have a guest spot on the Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog today.  I'm sharing a Christmas card with an ornament that can be removed and hung on the Christmas tree.  I hope you'll pop on over and check it out HERE.

Love Never Fails

I've done another page in my journaling bible.  For the heart I used a Wendy Vecchi stencil and pan pastels, sprayed it with workable fixative, let it dry and went around the outside with a grey Faber-Castell Pitt Big Brush Pen.  I wrote the word love.  I first used a pencil in just a single line for the whole word and thought I would build it up with the pencil before bringing in something more permanent but then decided to just take the plunge (I was VERY nervous) and use a Pitt pen and thicken things as I went.  I was quite happy!! (And surprised I didn't totally mess it up!)  Dots were added with markers.  I then used a Copic multi liner to write in the margin and also to write never fails but the black didn't show up too well so went over never fails with a white marker.

God's love for us never fails!!!!  It's easy, at times, to think it does, but we can only see a little glimpse of the big picture.  God knows so much more and loves us more then we can fathom.  We can trust that His love truly Never Fails!!!

Everyday Art

Here is another of the ATCs I made recently.  The background is a piece of paper from playing with shaving cream and Dylusion sprays.  Over this I first put down the bird stencil (TCW) and put embossing paste through it.  Once the paste was dry I painted the bird, paste and non-pasted areas using Fresco Finish Paints.  After the paint was dry, I lightly rubbed on some Treasure Gold over some of the paste areas.  The bird eye is a sticky backed gem with a dot of white paint.  The small dots in the background are paint through a stencil (TCW).  The branch is a left over die cut piece inked with Distress Inks.  The words are Idea-ology chit chat stickers, edges inked.

As I was looking through the chit chat stickers I was reminded of a quote I once saw that said Nature is God's Art which prompted choosing "everyday art" as the words since God's beautiful creation surrounds us at all times... art we can see each and every day!!!!!

Your Longest List

Hello!!!!  I have LOTS of printed paper even though I haven't bought any in years.  I've been sorting through it, giving some to some new crafters in my area, and will be trying to make an effort to be using some.  The papers used for this card are from Bo Bunny and the flowers are Prima.  Of course, the beautiful rubber stamp quote is from Quietfire Design.  It takes a long time for Suzanne to hand letter the images and then make them ready to become a stamp and I'm glad she does that for us!!!

I've used a Spellbinder's die (inverted scalloped square) for the piece with the quote.  I've added paint and Stickles Glitz glitter glue along the edges of another layers.  The narrow printed green strips along the left and bottom are washi tape.  The holly leaves layer has distressed edges and vintage photo ink.  Some layers are popped with foam mounting tape and others are flat.  The flowers are attached with Golden heavy gel medium.  The finished size of the card is a 6" square.

Feel The Beat

Our youngest son turned 19 this month and this is the card I made him.  Yes, he plays the drums and also the guitar (acoustic, electric, or bass).  He plays on the worship team at his church and at other times.

The background of this card is created using the shaving cream technique and Dylusion sprays.  The rubber stamps are from Visible Image.  "Praise" is computer generated.  Added some white paint splatters, an Idea-ology piece and some twine.

Be Brave

Hey!!  Whether you are visiting my blog or reading this in an email, thank you for taking the time!!!  I appreciate each of you and am blessed to have you following along!!

I'm sharing another ATC today.  There are several more that will be showing up as I have time.  The background was created back in August during PaperArtsy's blog topic, Gels and Mediums.  I put Golden's heavy gel medium through a stencil onto heavy Smoothy cardstock.  Once dry, it was sprayed with a few different shimmery sprays.  I had started to make a card with some of the background and it is not yet finished.  I cut the extra into atc blanks.  The leaf stem was left over, blank, and I colored it using ink and embossing powders.  I've used a swirly stamp and black Archival ink around the edges, a Idea-ology sticker from the small talk set for "be bave" and some black twine to finish.

Autumn Splender

Hello!!!  It's going to be a beautiful weekend here in Southern Iowa.  I'm headed out soon to an in-person ATC swap and therefore have been in ATC mode all week squeezing in bits of time here and there.  I finished this one up about 5:30 this morning, lol.

I grabbed a piece of left-ver background that had Wendy Vecchi's Archival reinker & alcohol technique done on it and cut an atc size piece.  I used her brick stencil and embossing paste over it keeping the paste thin by scraping all the way down to the stencil.  While the paste was still wet I sprinkled on her suggested custom mix brick embossing powder and since I had limited time went ahead and heated it right away.  Yes, the paste did poof up but then it settled back down and all was well.  The leaves were already die cut using Tim's die from manila card and just lying there.  I colored them with Distress stain spiced marmalade and barn door, dried, and sponged some vintage photo around the edges.  I also inked the edge of the card and then also used Distress paint in gold around the edges.  The words are stamped with a small alphabet set, cut out, and edged with ripe persimmon.

I had begun my blog post with the following two pictures when I finally noticed that I had spelled splendor wrong.  I almost left it but couldn't so fixed it by making another word and just gluing it over the first, took more pics and finished my post.  I thought I'd go ahead and show you my before fixing pics anyway.

Have a fabulous weekend!!!!

I'm entering this atc in the current Classy Cards 'n Such Challenge: Colors of Fall

Memory - Treasure

Hello!!!  I thought I'd make a Christmas card.  The beautiful calligraphy stamp is, of course, from Quietfire Design and is stamped with Archival Ink red geranium. I've used 2 of the frames from the Elizabeth Craft Design's die set, Curvy Squares.  They are cut from their soft finish cardstock with one left white and the other inked with Distress Ink worn lipstick.  The green layer is cardstock embossed with the ECD folder #114 Lots of Dots.  The poinsettia is die cut using the ECD set, #1090 Garden Notes - Poinsettia.  I colored soft finish cardstock with a mix of pink Distress Inks by putting the inks on a craft sheet, spraying with water, and dragging the paper through the ink.  After drying the paper, I cut 3 sets of poinsettia dies.  The pieces used for leaves were inked after cutting with Distress Inks and the edges of all the other petals were inked with antique linen.  After putting the flower together, I glued 3 little bells to the center using heavy gel medium.  Finishing touches on the card are 2 bead pins and line of glitter glue around the edges of the white frame.

I'm linking this card to the Classy Cards 'n Such challenge, Holly Days.
