Autumn Splender

Hello!!!  It's going to be a beautiful weekend here in Southern Iowa.  I'm headed out soon to an in-person ATC swap and therefore have been in ATC mode all week squeezing in bits of time here and there.  I finished this one up about 5:30 this morning, lol.

I grabbed a piece of left-ver background that had Wendy Vecchi's Archival reinker & alcohol technique done on it and cut an atc size piece.  I used her brick stencil and embossing paste over it keeping the paste thin by scraping all the way down to the stencil.  While the paste was still wet I sprinkled on her suggested custom mix brick embossing powder and since I had limited time went ahead and heated it right away.  Yes, the paste did poof up but then it settled back down and all was well.  The leaves were already die cut using Tim's die from manila card and just lying there.  I colored them with Distress stain spiced marmalade and barn door, dried, and sponged some vintage photo around the edges.  I also inked the edge of the card and then also used Distress paint in gold around the edges.  The words are stamped with a small alphabet set, cut out, and edged with ripe persimmon.

I had begun my blog post with the following two pictures when I finally noticed that I had spelled splendor wrong.  I almost left it but couldn't so fixed it by making another word and just gluing it over the first, took more pics and finished my post.  I thought I'd go ahead and show you my before fixing pics anyway.

Have a fabulous weekend!!!!

I'm entering this atc in the current Classy Cards 'n Such Challenge: Colors of Fall

Gorgeous! During the early morning hours of sleeplessness I envisioned doing a similar ATC for a swap I'm in...love your version!

Gorgeous. I like the impression of the leaf floating in the air, falling down in front of a brick wall.

Wanda, your card is beautiful and so full of color. I love how you used the embossing paste with the stencil. Thank you for joining us for the Classy Cards and Such challenge. I hope you will join us again soon.
