Circles on a Journal Page

On the PaperArtsy blog the current challenge is #16 - Circles.  HERE is a direct link to the information/linking post.  If you have time, join in with the challenge, they do pick a random winner for a voucher to their online store.

I did a journal page.  This journal is 8" x 10".  I began by gluing in some torn tissue wrap and book pages and then stenciling some circles with heavy gel medium (semi-gloss) and dripping on some tar gel.  Once those were dry, I started layering - shimmery sprays, Fresco Finish paints (mostly toffee and yellow submarine and also a little vanilla), and gesso.  I was kind of back and force and a little of this and then that, etc.  When I thought my color was good I also pulled out some Treasure Gold and caught some of the texture with that.  Next I stamped the words and flowers (all rubber stamps used on this page are from the PaperArtsy Lin Brown set ELB22).  I added a mix of Fresco Finish orchid and gloss glaze to the flowers, painting it on and then blotting excess off.. and a mix of Fresco Finish tinned peas and gloss glaze to the stems.  Painty circles made with different lids were stamped on with Fresco Finish vanilla, orchid, and little black dress.  Drew around some of the gel circles with Posca paint pens.  Splattered white paint around.  Stamped the little flower image with Fresco Finish snowflake paint and then added red dots with a Posca pen.

Wow, Wanda - this page is absolutely amazing. I love the textured circles underpinning it all, but also the beautiful layering of colour to create such warmth and depth. Lovely work with the glaze on the flowers too and the tar gel drippage is fabulous!
