Making Art Challenge #9

We are having a great time on the Everything Wendy Vecchi Yahoo Group with the challenges Lori is posting for us based on projects from Wendy's books.  Owning the book is NOT a requirement... although they are wonderful books with fabulous projects and step-by-step directions!!!  Lori takes a project and chooses some elements of that project as the basis of our challenge.  This week we had to include 3 buttons and a dimensional grunge paper/board object on our project.

I chose to make an ATC because I have an in-person swap coming up the end of this month.... However, I'm not sure I can trade this ATC off... I like it sooooooooooooo much!!!!!  I started with a Ranger manila atc blank... created a wrinkle-free distress background with broken china, crushed olive, and mustard seed... stamped a Studio 490 background image (Art Colors Life set) with broken china... used the Studio 490 tree (Mail Art set) and olive ink to stamp the edges... the saying (An Eye For Art set) is stamped with jet black... the circle/eye image is from the same set, stamped with jet black on a scrap of light watercolor paper, cut it out, colored the eye with broken china using a cut 'n dry nib, colored around the edge with barn door just using the blending tool.  The flower under the eye is another Clearly For Art/Paper towel flower (see this post).  The 3 flowers (Make Mine Mini Art set) along the bottom are stamped on grungepaper with jet black, cut out, inked with snow cap, dried, inked with wild honey and barn door, stamped with the screen background image (Art Rules set) using Archival Ink maroon.  The mini buttons are colored with Alcohol ink, baker's twine tied through the holes.  The tiny bows were a little bit of a challenge but worth it!!

It is true that art begins with vision. If you have good vision than you can make extra ordinary art. I like your piece of art.
