MAC #10

It's amazing how quickly the weeks fly by!!!  It seems like we just started the Making Art Challenges and already we are on number 10!!  If you are interested in participating in these Wendy Vecchi Inspired challenges, join us on the EverythingWendyVecchi Yahoo Group.  This week our challenge is "some stitching around the edge AND a butterfly From Patterned Paper".  I used patterned paper from Tim's Crowded Attic paper stash for the background, the piece the saying is stamped on and the piece I stamped the butterfly on.  All stamps are Studio 490 - the butterfly is from the Botanical Art set and all the rest are from the Art In Bloom set.  After sewing around the edges of the background piece, I stamped the solid flower on it with Archival Ink coffee and also stamped the flower on the piece with the saying using Distress Ink antique linen.  The saying is stamped with Archival Ink jet black.  Specimen #1 and the little bit of lace in the bottom right corner are both stamped with coffee.  I colored the Art Part Flower with Distress Stain peeled paint on the stem and bottom and with antique linen on the flower part... stamped the matching flower onto the Art Part with coffee... and stamped the center of the flower again with coffee on a scrap of grungeboard... colored the ends of the petals with Distress Ink barn door and added Distress Stickles rock candy to all the petals.  Cut out the extra flower center from GB, colored it with Distress Ink mustard seed and added it to the Art Part Flower.  Stamped the butterfly with jet black, cut it out, added barn door and mustard seed inks.  An Ideology trinket pin and snap finish things off.

Love this Wanda, the colors you used on the art parts and butterfly really pop against that background paper.

What did you use for the body of the little guy? A Zipper pull? Very lovely. And how clever that you did not go for a butterfly-patterned paper, but instead took a grunge turn, or should we say steampunk. I love the sentiment as well. So right!
