Grungy Monday #3

This weeks Grungy Monday challenge is all about Tim Holtz Adirondack Color Wash Sprays.  These sprays have always been wonderful but since Ranger changed the bottles they are Fabulously Wonderful!!!!!  You can go to Ranger's Website or Tim's blog and search color wash to find out more about them.

I've made an ATC.  I stuck a Sticky Back Canvas ATC Blank to a heavy piece of paper and then sprayed it with Color Wash red pepper and butterscotch... I also added a couple spritz's of gold Perfect Pearls Mist... dried the ATC.  Next I embossed it with Tim's new clock folder and highlighted the embossing with Distress Ink brushed corduroy and fired brick.  I took a scrap of grungepaper large enough for the saying, inked it with Adirondack Snow Cap pigment ink, dried it, inked it with Distress Ink old paper, dried it, stamped the saying with Archival Ink jet black, dried it, trimmed it to size, inked the edges and back with Distress Ink brushed corduroy, dried it, roughed up the edges with Tim's paper distresser and reinked with the brushed corduroy.  For the flowers.... I colored a paper towel with Color Wash red pepper, sunset orange, and butterscotch by spraying the Color Wash on a craft sheet and taking a slightly damp (I sprayed it a few times with water) paper towel and dabbing up the color adding extra water if needed so the color would bleed and blend out... I did not try to cover the whole towel with color but left some of the white showing.  Dried the towel and took the layers apart so I had a single sheet.  I glued the single sheet to a piece of Studio 490 Clearly for Art using Ranger's Glue and Seal matte.  Die cut the flowers using Tim's tattered florals, added a little fired brick on the tips of the petals, heated and shaped the flowers, pierced a hole in the centers and attached them together with a brad.  Cut Tim's flourishes from grungepaper, sprayed them with Color Wash meadow, dried them, embossed them with Tim's dot matrix folder, hit the high spots with Distress Ink faded jeans, cut the flourish apart and added it as shown.

I love the texture of the paper towel on the flower!!!

Absolutely stunning, Wanda! I love all the textures you used, and the bright, beautiful Color Wash looks fabulous-- what a great color combo! I love how you created the sentiment block-- really clever use of paint and ink. As always, you made some magic, my dear!

Just goes to show how much work you put into every piece of art you make, and how much thought.
