For the background I started by gluing a piece Tim Holtz tissue wrap to white cardstock. I painted it with Fresco Finish Paints (banana and Caribbean sea from the new Lin Brown Limited Edition Set 3), washed over it with snowflake FF paint, stamped the scripture (Our Daily Bread Designs) with Archival Ink jet black, stenciled through sequin waste with the Caribbean sea, and added gold embossing around the edge. Glued on the butterfly piece. Colored white string with banana paint and water and added it as shown. Colored the beads that create the butterfly bodies with just a touch of alcohol ink.

We Love You
Happy Thursday!!! The months fly by so quickly!! Today is the last day to get an entry into this months Make ART Challenge Blog (hearts this month) and I even got new Wendy stuff this week to play with.... woohoo!!!! This is a #8 tag. I began with Wendy's splattered plaster technique using orange blossom, tea rose, and buttercup Archival's. I need to practice this technique more as I didn't get much for white, plastery splotches. Next I used the Vintage Quilt stencil and orange blossom ink and then decided to also add some gold embossing paste through the same stencil in some areas. Once that was dry I added more stenciling with the Alphabets stencil. I used the coneflower SISI on a scrap of white cardstock, inked it with Archival's and cut it out. Determined where I wanted the words "We Love You!" and stenciled them with jet black. I stamped onto the coneflower using Wendy's new smaller tree image (Trademark Art set SCS132) and monarch orange Archival. I edged the tag with the same ink and at the end also stamped more of the tree image along the bottom. I drew boxes around the words with a Pitt pen, attached the flower with foam mounting tape, added white twine and a heart charm from my stash. The heart was silver but on pounce of a blending tool with orange blossom on it gave it a gold tone.
Imagine! Imagine!
Today I'm sharing my 4th sample I did with the new Sara Naumann stamps for PaperArtsy. The Fresco Finish paint colors used are vanilla, guacamole, sherbet, Spanish mulberry, Lake Wanaka, and snowflake. I worked a background on a 5" x 7" piece of smoothy card. I began with spots of paint (vanilla, guacamole, sherbet) added with a piece of cut 'n dry foam. Next I stamped various images (ESN 14 & 15) with Spanish mulberry, Lake Wanaka and snowflake. To create the hill I put a line of guacamole paint and then used a flat paintbrush to drag the paint down. I stamped the bird both on the background and also on a painted piece of heavy smoothy, cut out the extra bird and another wing, and glued them to the piece. For the words I dry brushed paint on a scrap, stamped the quote, cut out the pieces and edged them with paint. The edges of the whole piece are sponged with paint and then dashes added with a Posca marker.

Dandelions
This is the 4th sample I did using Lin Brown stamps for the PA new release week. I cut 4 pieces of heavy smoothy card each 3" x 3", stamped a dandelion (ELB15) on each square with a different color of paint, dried them and stamped the quote with Archival Ink jet black. For the base I mixed grunge paste with guacamole FF paint, spread it onto a 6 3/8" square of heavy smoothy and stamped into the paste using the dandelion fluff (not sure what else to call it, the bottom right image in the ELB15 set), let that dry and dry brushed it with hey pesto. I also edge each dandelion square with hey pesto. Put it together and added a sticky back crystal to the center of the 3 individual dandelions.

A Barrell of Fun!!!!
Well, at least the lid of the barrel, a 25 gal barrel... you know those heavy cardboard ones with metal rims and lid that clamp on. There was a benefit on Feb. 15 for a wonderful lady fighting leukemia and thyroid cancer. She is about to have a stem cell transplant. They were putting out a barrel for people to drop cards in and I was asked if I might be able to do a little something with the lid. The barrel was already wrapped in a pretty red paper and a hole cut in the lid large enough for cards. I painted the lid with Fresco Finish paints, stenciled (Memory Box stencil) the leaves with paint, add the white doodling with a Posca marker, stamped the scripture (Our Daily Bread Designs) onto tissue paper and added it with Fresco Finish gloss glaze, cut the letters to spell "cards" with the Silhouette Cameo, and added flowers and butterflies from my stash.
You can see in the picture below that the lid was about 20" across.

Published in Take Ten Magazine
This is a quick card made for a design challenge issued by Take Ten Magazine. I received the Mar/Apr/May 2015 issue a few days ago and an extra copy with a note that said I was published... always an exciting thing to have happen. I hadn't submitted anything for a long time making this extra fun!!! I used a stencil (PS005), text stamp (ESN10), and Fresco Finish paints from PaperArtsy. "Just for you" is a fun stamp from Quietfire Design, part of the Just For You set of 4 stamps. Doodling around flower petals, on border and for dots done with a Pitt pen.

Bloom
Hello There!!! I hope you are doing well today!!!! I'm back with another of the new release PaperArtsy Sara Naumann samples.
The background piece is corrugated, specifically the inside of an old light bulb box/sleeve whatever you would call those things that you could buy 4 lightbulbs inside of. I painted it with guacamole first, then caught the high spots and edges with vanilla, stamped the lines (ESN14) with Lake Wanaka paint, stamped the flower (ESN14) with Spanish mulberry paint, and flicked watered down snowflake paint over the piece.
For the layered flower I painted smoothy card with Spanish mulberry and sherbet, dried it, stamped the flower with Archival Ink jet black, dried it, cut off 2 petals along the outside of the center circle line, and attached those 2 petals onto the flower so they were positioned between the 3 remaining petals. Cool, huh!!!! Along the bottom of the card I have washi tape and I've also made the flower stem from the same tape. The washi tape along the bottom is wrapped to the back and the whole background is attached to heavy smoothy card.
For the bird (ESN15) I painted smoothy card with beach hut and lake wanaka, stamped the bird with jet black, cut it out and attached it as shown. I added a drop of Glossy Accents to the eye.
"bloom" (ESN14) is stamped onto a scrap with beach hut paint, trimmed and the edges of the piece have beach hut on them.

Quietfire times Two
Happy Wednesday!!!!
First up.... I am over on the Quietfire Creations blog today with a project. The picture above is a little peek at that project. I'll hope you'll pop on over and see the whole thing!!!
Second... For the month of February Quietfire Design is the sponsor on the Die Cut Diva's Challenge Blog. Today they are featuring projects done by some of the QF design team members so be sure and check it out!!!!!! Below is my card.
For the background on this card I've used Fresco Finish paints - prawn (from the new Jofy Limited Edition 3 set) and snowflake. I brushed on snowflake starting at the top and going down and prawn starts at the bottom and goes up. I've also stenciled the same colors through sequin waste. The stamped sentiment, Love is friendship set on fire, is a Quietfire Stamp. The word thump is part of the Quietfire cut file, heart thump card, available in the Silhouette Design store and instead of cutting it I've used a black silhouette pen. Using the Quietfire cut file, EKG heart you card, I cut the ekg from black cardstock and the extra hearts from red cardstock. The card is assembled as shown and I added Glossy Accents over the red hearts.

PA Lin Sample #3 - PaperArtsy Launch Day #6
Happy Friday!!! I hope you've had a good week and are looking forward to the weekend. Today I'm sharing the 3rd sample I made with the new Lin Brown stamps. But First... this is Day #6 in the week long Launch Days over on the PaperArtsy Blog. Today focuses on the new Lynne Perrella releases.. and here is today's video...
Do be sure and pop on over to the PA blog to check out all the wonderful Lynne samples.
In my guest designer post HERE on the PaperArtsy blog back in December I shared an alcohol drip technique and that is the technique I started with on this sample. I started with the blue paint and put the pink paint over it, dripping with the alcohol, laying a paper towel over the piece right away and then taking it back off. To lighten the background more I washed over it with snowflake paint mixed with water and blotted with a cloth. I stenciled the dots (PS001) with snowflake. I stamped over the background using Archival Ink auquamarine with a stamp from sheet ELB05. Around the edges is sponged with snowflake first and then with yellow. The flower and stem are stamped onto the panel with Archival Ink jet black plus an extra flower stamped on a scrap. I used hey pesto on the stem/leaves and yellow on the extra flower, extra details added with either white or black pen. The extra flower is cut out, a gold brad added to the center and the flower attached to the panel. I laid down strips of washi tape and stamped the quote (ELB05) with jet black ink. Black pen used for the dots around the edge and a white marker used to color in some of the dots in the washi tape.

Sara Project #2 --- PA Launch Day #5
Happy Thursday!!! I'm back to share another of the projects I did using some of the new Sara Naumann stamps. But First... Day 5 of the PaperArtsy new product blog launches is sharing new releases from Clare Lloyd and Emma Godfrey. Of course each has a video....
Do head over to the PaperArtsy blog to see the complete releases and all the totally fabulous projects with each one!!!!
And onto my 2nd project I made for the Sara Naumann release....
I cut a piece of heavy smoothy card to 5 1/4" square. I covered it with grungepaste, some areas are thinner and some are thicker, and then I stamped into the grungepaste with the flower image. This is done by spraying water on the stamp, rubbing it around with your finger, pressing it into the paste and lifting. The thinner areas of paste pick up the detail in the stamp very well and the thicker areas give you the shape with texture inside. Once the paste was completely dry I mixed beach hut paint with satin glaze and a little pearl glaze (about 1/2 paint, 1/2 glaze), brushed it over the pasted panel, let it sit just a bit and wiped off the excess. I stamped the distressed lines image with Archival Ink aquamarine and the text with Archival Ink leaf green. Treasure gold white fire was added here and there. The quote is stamped onto a scrap of smoothy with Archival Ink jet black, torn out and attached to the panel. For the flowers I painted smoothy card first, stamped the flowers and cut them out. For the leaves, I used the PaperArtsy die "branch", cut the leaves apart, sprayed them with Distress spray stain mowed lawn, and stamped the text with Archival Ink leaf green. I glued the flowers and leaves to the panel and glued Frantage crushed glass glittler, champagne, to the center of the flowers.

PA Launch Day #4 includes Sara Naumann
The second group of snippets I shared with you on THIS post were all using images from Sara's new sheets ESN14 and ESN15. Over on the PaperArtsy Blog today is the launch of Sara's followed by Darcy's release and then Elizabeth Borer's release. There is, of course, videos to go along with the blog posts..... and don't miss going to the PaperArtsy blog to see all the fab projects!!
Just like with Lin's release I'll just go into detail in this post for one of the four projects I did for Sara and continue to show the other projects over the next week or so. First, complete pics of all samples.
I'll focus on this one today.
The background is a 6" square of heavy smoothy card. I've painted it with sherbet and vanilla using a piece of foam cut 'n dry starting each color at opposite corners and allowing them to streak together in the center. The script image (bottom left image on sheet #15) is partially stamped using Archival Ink pale ochre repeating over the card and stamping more than once between inkings. The flowers along the left edge are stamped with Archival Ink coffee and beach hut paint lightly on each flower to add a little color. The beach hut looks completely different over the sherbet than it does over the vanilla, really very cool!!! The bird is stamped directly on the background with Archival Ink jet black and then also stamped on a scrap of vanilla painted card and a scrap of sherbet painted card. The quote is stamped with jet black. Beach hut was painted over the top part of the bird on vanilla leaving the belly area vanilla, cut out and layered on the main bird. The top part of the wing of the bird stamped on sherbet is also painted with beach hut, just the wing cut out and layered onto the bird. Along the bottom I've stamped the sketchy lines image (ESN14) with guacamole. For the layered flowers, they are stamped onto sherbet painted smoothy with coffee Archival and painted with beach hut, cut out, glued onto the base and clear holeless beads glued to the centers with glossy accents. I somewhat masked off the bird and then splattered snowflake paint over the whole piece. Take Flight was stamped onto a scrap, cut out, and glued on as shown. Dots added around the border with a marker.

Stardust and Rainbow
The background of this tag is inspired by Wendy Vecchi. She shared a picture on facebook of gold embossing paste through a stencil onto a black tag and it was so pretty I just had to try it. I've used a TCW stencil and Wendy's gold paste onto a #8 black tag. Her paste is made by Dreamweavers and is the same formula as their gold paste so either will work. I used my finger to also dab some of the gold paste around the edges. Once that was all dry I stamped a script image with white pigment ink here and there over the tag.
The center piece is the Quietfire Design quote, The true harvest of my daily life, stamped with Archival Ink jet black onto kraft paper. The edges were inked with vintage photo distress ink and crumpled up. The leaf piece at the top right is a Prima Finnabair metal embellishment that I've brushed with Treasure Gold. The two paper flowers at the bottom also have some Treasure Gold on them and a black brad in the center. Cream colored twine at the bottom and top.
