It's been busy here but I wanted to have a quick play so I opened THE BOX (a box with a plethora of scraps and random backgrounds - if you click the link, you can see a couple of pictures) and pulled a piece close to the top that said "use me". I could tell I used sprays on the piece and a Stencil Girl Stencil Club stencil from Jan. 2013, the very first club release. Over this I used Wendy Vecchi's white embossing paste and a new Elizabeth Craft Designs stencil (S002 Flower). Because the background used sprays, as the paste dried it soaked up some of the background color tinting the paste. I stamped a script (PaperArtsy Sara Naumann ESN11) with Distress Paint Picked Raspberry. I added circles using the plastic core from an ATG tape roll and the cap from a paint bottle. I stamped these using PaperArtsy's Fresco Finish Paint Slate. I shook a large white Posca Pen over the panel to add the white splatters and then ran the marker around the edges. "Live", an A Way With Words, Elizabeth Craft Designs die designed by Suzanne Cannon of Quietfire Design, is cut from an Iris Shimmer Sheetz backed with Clear Double Sided Adhesive and from Black Cardstock backed with Clear Double Sided Adhesive. These are layered together and stuck to the panel. The other words are from the Tim Holtz Idea-ology Small Talk Sticker Book. I've attached this panel to black cardstock and then purple cardstock.

Friends in an Oval
I got happy mail yesterday - a package from Elizabeth Craft Designs!! Yay!! As soon as their new products became available on their website I ordered the stencils and a few dies. I just had to have a play right away!! I was going to do a stitched oval layer but when I reached for some Soft Finish Cardstock there was a folded piece large enough for the oval I was cutting and I thought "Oh, an oval folded card would be cool" and so I did.
The finished size of this card is about 4 1/4" x 3". Just a cute little card that would work great even as a note on the outside of a package. Here's how I made it.
1. Cut Stitched Oval from folded Soft Finish Cardstock (100# White) leaving the cutting edge of the die outside the fold at the top. There is about 3/4" at the fold not cut.
2. Place Swirly Flourish stencil over front of card and ink with Twisted Citron through stencil. Ink edges of card with Squeezed Lemonade.
3. Die cut Friends from Shimmer Sheetz backed with Clear Double Sided Adhesive, remove liner and stick to card.
4. Die cut all parts of Garden Notes Zinnia except the stem from Soft Finish Cardstock. Ink leaves with Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn. Ink flowers with Salty Ocean and Wilted Violet. Ink pistils with Squeezed Lemonade and leave stamens white. Shape petals using a molding mat and loop tool. Add line to leaves with leaf tool and leaf pad adding more ink along line. Glue flower together on card.

A Loving Heart
Hello and Happy Friday to you!!!!!!! Back on Monday I had THIS project on the PaperArtsy Blog and today I'm sharing what I did with that heart I used as a mask.
I used all Fresco Finish Paint & Glaze except when stamping and then I used Archival Ink. All stamps are from PaperArtsy. So first I painted over the grungepasted heart with Blush but changed my mind and repainted it with Orchid.. let that dry and then glazed it with a mix of Snowflake & Gloss Glaze... walk away for a minute to let the glaze sit but then got distracted and was gone for a few minutes... wiped it back using a baby wipe and had some spots that were dry and didn't wipe so well but I actually REALLY like how it looks. I stamped over this with with a script stamp (ESN11) using Watering Can ink. Last week I had made a card using a napkin and the white separated layer was laying there so I used it instead of tissue paper to stamp the flower on (EDY11). I stamped with Jet Black ink and then painted from the back with Lavender for the spots, China and Snowflake for the edges, Hey Pesto for the stems, and Cheesecake for the center around the spots. I had to be much more careful when painted on the napkin layer as it is more delicate than tissue paper. It also wanted to wrinkle more I rather like that for this project. Once dry I flipped it over and added a little Wink of Stella Gl. Clear over the dots, let that dry, tore out the flower and glued it to the heart using Gloss Glaze. After that dried I painted another coat of Gloss Glaze over the whole heart. I wasn't sure what to do with it next... I knew I wanted words and had decided on what to use for that but wasn't sure if I should put the heart on a card or what so it actually sat for a couple of days. I finally decided on a 6" x 8" canvas board and Golden's Fiber Paste. I used a palette knife to put the paste on the board not bothering to put it in the center area but being sure the heart would be in it around all the edges. I put down the heart pressing it down and pressing around all the edges which created a hump that I loved. As the Fiber Paste was drying I would repress the edges to make sure they weren't lifting a little. When the top was dry but the underneath wasn't I did press a little on the highest humps as I thought they were too much and then let it dry completely. I made a really watery puddle of Cheesecake and painted over the Fiber Paste even spraying some water directly on it to help it spread. I did not paint all the way up to the heart but let the paint just kind of flow that way and left some of the hump without paint. The words (ESN11) were stamped onto a scrap of paper with Jet Black, cut out, glued to the heart and then Gloss Glaze brushed over them. Around the edges of the canvas I've used Treasure Gold Silver and then Wink of Stella Gl. Clear.

Laugh Every Day!!!
"Laugh" is cut using the new A Way With Words die. It's cut from white cardstock with Clear Double Sided Adhesive on it and then it's glittered with Silk Microfine Glitter Warm Diamond. I had got it ready for a different project but then changed directions and it's been laying in my work area looking oh, so pretty that I needed to get it used before something happened to it. I also still have some shaving cream technique background papers in my work area so I've used one of those. I cut the piece down to a rectangle and was going to corner punch it but then I messed that up. I loved the yellow and pink and how it swirled so to save it I just cut the corners as shown. I stenciled Distress Ink Picked Raspberry through the Tim Holtz Flourish stencil at each end, glued on the Laugh die cut, and wrote "Every Day" with a Pitt pen. I attached the piece to black cardstock and cut a small borner. I folded white cardstock for the base, lightly inked Distress Ink Squeezed Lemonade around the front edges, used the Flourish stencil again on the left end with Squeezed Lemonade, stenciled the dots (The Crafter's Workshop stencil) with Distress Ink Black Soot and attached the Laugh panel. The stem and flowers are die cut (Elizabeth Craft Designs CountryScapes Mini Botanicals - Clematis, Ivy) from White Cardstock. The stem was sprayed with Distress Spray Stain Mowed Lawn, dried, Green Pan Pastel brushed here and there and then glued to the card. The flowers were cut from a scrap of the shaving cream background paper, shaped with a stylus and mat, glued on and a drop of Glitter Glue put in each center. Finally I shadowed Laugh using an All Stabilo pencil and waterbrush.

Happy Anniversary
This card uses a couple newly released Elizabeth Craft Designs dies. Happy Anniversary is from the A Way With Words collection designed by Suzanne Cannon. I've cut it from Blue Velvet Adhesive Sheet. The kite is a new Joset Design. I've cut the solid kite and little flags from a scrap of paper that has the shaving cream technique done on it using Dylusion sprays. The front of the kite and tail was cut from Soft Finish Cardstock and inked with Distress Ink. The bird is a Peel-Off Sticker and I've added color with Distress Ink and a water brush. The edges of the card are inked with Distress Ink Salty Ocean and Gathered Twig. A piece of twine is used for the kite string. I carefully lifted the end of the birds beak from the paper and ran the string behind it so it looked like the bird was holding on.
Thanks for looking and reading!!!! Leave a comment if you have an extra moment and have a wonderful day!!!!!!!!!!!
