First up I'm sharing a couple of birthday cards. These were quick cards but they still look very nice. The "Happy Birthday" used on each card is from the Quietfire Design set Happy Birthday Plain & Simple.
For this first card I masked off the center using some tissue tape, sponged it with Distress Ink tumbled glass and a little broken chine, stamped the pine tree (and old PSX stamp) with versamark ink 5 times, and embossed them with evergreen embossing powder. Next I used some very old liquid applique and heated it to create the look of snow. The Happy Birthday is stamped with Archival Ink jet black.
For this second card I stamped Happy Birthday with Archival Ink manganese blue plus some cornflower blue. I embossed the piece using a Tim Holtz snowflake folder and an embossing diffuser. After it was embossed I laid the small oval from the diffusing plate over the non-embossed area and sprayed the rest of the piece with Distress stain Spray using tumbled glass, brushed pewter and just a bit of picket fence. I removed the oval , dried the piece and sponged Archival Ink manganese blue over the high spots to bring out the snowflakes and added some around the edges. The large layered snowflake is the Tim Holtz combination die and embossing folder and it's cut from a frosted sheet. I brushed just a little Distress Paint picket fence on the back of the snowflake to help it show up a bit and layered it with a large metal snowflake brad (Spare Parts).
