Catching Up and Exciting News

I've been quite behind on uploading art to my blog the past couple of weeks but am caught up now. I hope you enjoy seeing all of it and don't hesitate to leave me a comment if you'd like.

This ATC has been shared before but I'm sharing it again because it has won an award in an ATC exhibit at the Art Center in Ankeny, Iowa. More info available here. They got in about 300 atcs for the exhibit, gave out 5 awards and I got one with this atc. I am soooooo excited!!!! and just had to share :-)) Directions for this atc can be found here.

Tweet ATC

Background is gesso and ink on cardstock. Stamped flowers (Inkadinkado) with Stazon ink. Stamped bird image (Quietfire Design) with black ink stamped part of the branch more than once. Added fabric brads to bottom. Stamped letters to spell TWEET on a scrap of the background.

Take Time ATC

The background is patterned paper. I used Lyra watercolor crayons to add pink to the flower and also around the collage image after it was glued on. Take time is part of a rubber stamp cut out and layered to cardstock and then glued to atc. A flower charm and pink crystal were added to the center of the flower. Paper, stamp, crayons, and collage image are all from Quietfire Design.

More Inchies

In a package of Tim Holtz fragments there are some pieces that are 1" square... yay, fragment inchies :-) On Lovely and A Bad Day I used alcohol inks being sure to leave a lighter area where I would have the face showing. Then I added Glossy Accents to the side of the fragment that had the alcohol inks on it and layed it on the collage image (PID), let it dry and then trimmed the image to the size of the fragment. I added the embellishments and words to the top of the fragment. For the third one I put double sided tape (cut from a tape sheet) on the back of the fragment, cut out the image and stuck it to the tape so you would be looking at the image through the fragment, added fine glitter to the tape left showing, and then glued it to a light blue cardstock. Stamped snowflakes (might be hard to see) on the front with Stazon white opaque and added crystal stickers to the centers. In real life this one is not blurry at all but it just wouldn't scan well.

Listen Inchie

I know I've said it before but... Inchies are sooo much fun!!! I punched out part of a collage image (PID) using my 1" square punch, added ink around the edges, cut out the bird (PID), glued it on and drew around it with the Inkssential white pen. Listen is computer generated.

Reflection ATC

The background is alcohol inks, then the image was stamped with black ink and some thinned gesso sprayed over piece and wiped off of face. Words are computer generated.

Radiance ATC

I had in my stash an atc sized piece of cardstock with some modeling paste on it. I rubbed Adirondack ink all over it not thinking about the fact that it wouldn't really dry on the paste so then I took some matte medium and brushed over it and blotted some back up, let that dry and then used a Blitzer to add gold Krylon. Cut out the collage image (PID) and glued it on. Added the radiance embellishment and flowers.

ATC

I made this atc last week for the polka dot challenge on the PID yahoo group (link along right side of blog). The challenge was to make polka dots somehow to encircle the head of the PID image used. It was great to see all the different ways people accomplished this from just using a pen to using embellishements.
Again this background was in my stash. I used rub-ons along the left edge. The collage image and word Mia were cut out and added to the atc. Dots were made with the Inkssential white pen. Sunshine is a rub-on.

ATC

The background is printed paper. Collage image from Quietfire Design. Added blue around image with Portfolio pastels. Heart flourish and love stamps from QF. Love was stamped onto a scrap of the printed paper, a Tim Holtz fragment piece glued over it, trimmed paper to fragment size, and edged it with a silver Krylon pen. Peel-Offs border sticker added to bottom.

ATC

Another background I had left over... it uses gesso and inks. I stamped over it with a flower/flourish image from Inkadinkado. Added the collage image (PID) and rub-on dragonfly. White dots made with the inkssential white pen. Words written with a Zig pen.

Lighthouse ATC

This is another background I had sitting around... I think it was left over from a session of playing with crayons on cardstock on a hot plate. I stamped the lighthouse seen with Archival ink, added the postage stamp, wrote the letters to spell light, punched them out with a 1/4" hole punch, glued them on and then added Glossy Accents on top of them.

ATC

The lady is stamped on a laminate chip. We did this the last time there was an in-person swap and it was fun. I had it laying around and decided it needed to become an atc. The background is paint on textured cardstock. Then I colored a piece of dry wall mesh black and layered it on. Then the chip and a large flower. Gold dots were added with a gel pen and the middle of the flower was colored gold with a Krylon pen.

ATC

The background is done on white glossy cardstock. It was stamped with a mini heart flourish (QF) using resist ink, sponged with Distress Inks, water flicked on and then after a few seconds blotted back up. Cut out and added the collage image (PID). Stamped hope along left side. Added the heart ribbon along right side and used the white Inkssential pen inside of each heart. Rubbed edges with ink.

ATC

The background is patterned paper and also some scraps torn and layered at the bottom. The black circles were done with the end of a glue stick tube and black ink. The gold circle uses gold paint. Collage image, word, and border image are all from Quietfire Design.

ATC

The background I just pulled from my stash and it's some kind of spray. Stamped the flourish image (QF) over it. Cut out and attached the collage image (PID). The words are rub-ons and it's German scrap along the right side.

ATC

The background is blue textured cardstock with dragonflies stamped in white. Added dragonfly rub-ons and a dragonfly postage stamp. Words and dots are done with the Inkssential white pen.

ATC

The collage image (PID) is transfered onto muslin using soft gel medium, cut out and edges frayed. The background is white cardstock blotched with gesso and then rubbed with blue ink. Flourished (QF) stamped over it. Attached the image, added the flower, added dots with the Inkssential white pen and stamped the little bird (ggDesigns) with black ink.

Crow Card

All stamps are from the new Crows Sheet from Quietfire Design. The music image is stamped with Distress Ink peeled paint and shabby shutters sponged on. The crow and the word tapping are stamped with Archival Ink jet black and shabby shutters sponged around crow. The flower paper was black and white and I sponged on Distress Ink worn lipstick.

CBC - Pattern and Fancy Paper

This weeks challenge over at Created Byhand is to use pattern or fancy paper. This atc uses a piece of patterned paper that come in the Kelly Kit from Quietfire Design and also stamps from the new Crows sheet. I overstamped the paper with the music stamp using Distress Ink broken china stamped once on scrap paper first. Both the saying and the crow were stamped with Archival Ink jet black. Used the inkssential white pen to add dots. The paper is two sided so the blue strips are the same paper just flipped over.

I had to do a couple of birthday cards this week. One for a friend and one for my step-daughter. My friend loved her card and the dog one for my step-daughter will go in the mail this weekend. The dog image is from Hearts in Touch, flowers and saying stamp are from Hero Arts, Happy Birthday is from Inkadinkado.

Looking Back ATC

The background is the polished stone technique. Over that I've layed a clock background transparency, flipping it over so the clock is backwards, and attached it using 1/16" black eyelets. I added the collage image and computer generated words. Clock transparency and collage image are from PID - Paper Imagery Designs.

Another for the CBC challenge

Another butterfly to meet the wings challenge (I can't help myself :) The collage image and butterfly are from PID - Paper Imagery Designs. "Enjoy Lifes Moments" is Hero Arts. The flower spray is Inkadinkado. Inks - Distress Ink mustard seed, Stazon ink fuchsia pink.

CBC - Wings

Wings is the challenge this week on Created Byhand and here's a card with lots of butterfly wings. The butterflies in the background were stamped with gesso. Collage image and journey stamp are from Quietfire Design.

June's Project at AMRSC

This is a 3" x 3" canvas I made for the Project of the Month on A Monthly Rubber Stamp Club. Step-by-step pictures and directions can be found there.

Friends ATC

I did a group of these atcs for a local swap. The image is from Paperbag Studios including the saying. I stamped just the picture part of the stamp on an atc sized piece of white cardstock. Sponged green ink around the kids. I stamped the saying on a scrap of cardstock, cut it out, sponged it with pink ink and glued it on. Added the flower, punched butterfly, and rhinestone. I edged the atc with a pink Krylon Brights paint pen. The brights paint pens are fairly new and way cool. They have the same tip as the metallic pens but the paint is bright. You can get pink, blue, yellow, green, or orange.

3D Flower ATC

This is a bit different for me but I really like it. I stamped onto black cardstock using interference ink (you can see this best in the darker pic). The wood piece is part of a knot that was cut in half and fell from a pine board when we were ripping it. I had immediately picked it up and put in my work spot thinking I might want to use it some day. I wired it to the mesh and then attached the mesh to the card using eyelets. Added leaves and flower
