Quietfire Design Winter Wonderland Blog Hop - Day 3

Hello and welcome to Quietfire Design's Winter Wonderland Blog Hop!!!  I'm so happy that you've stopped by!!!  If you haven't been following along with the hop you will definitely want to check out the posts from Monday and Tuesday (schedule below).  We are on day 3 of 5 today with a post here and a post on Teresa's blog.

I decided to get Krafty with my card as in using Kraft Paper.  I started with an older stamp - the smaller Merry Christmas snowflake stamping it with Adirondack pigment ink snowcap and drying it with a heat tool.  Next I inked around the edge with Distress Ink vintage photo and also over the stamped snowflakes to tone them down.  Merry Christmas (from the new Merry Christmas Plain & Simple Set) is stamped with Archival Ink jet black. This piece is layered to a folded natural (or off-white) card edged with Distress Ink barn door.  Also in the background I've sponged barn door ink through sequin waste but this was done at the end when I decided I needed to do something more with the card.  The poinsettia is cut from the Tim Holtz die tattered poinsettia from natural cardstock.  There are 2 large, 1 medium, and 1 small poinsettia.  All but one of the large pieces is stamped with a text background image using Versamark and embossed with Queen's Gold embossing powder. The edges of the petals are inked with either barn door or peeled paint.  I stacked the flowers, stapled them together, and added an Idea-ology gumdrop that I had inked with Archival Ink chrome yellow to the center.

There are prizes to be won!!!  One winner will be selected from each blog and your entry is a comment - one on each blog.  We'd love to hear what you think - good, bad, or in-between!!!  All comments must be made by midnight Friday, Dec. 19th.

Also ALL Quietfire Design rubber stamps are on sale during the hop - 25% off the regular price.  Woohoo!!!!!

The schedule....

Monday: Diana
